Volunteers are a vital part of the success of the DATC event each year. To honor and appreciate our volunteers, we make the door prize give away drawing available by allowing volunteers to earn tokens in exchange for their time and effort.
How do I help during the event?
Sign up here for one of the below positions we need to fill throughout the 24 hours of the event.
- Registration:
Make sure divers are registered, verifying certification level and cards, confirm registration fees are paid, be sure release forms are filled out, go over general rules and information, give registrant their swag bag, handing out diver number/token, explaining the token prize drawings, handing out proper amount of tokens for amount of money raised.
- Diver Check-in:
Verify dive times, confirm dive buddy pairing/grouping are correct, marking diver board (who is in/out) and returning diver tokens for diving/prizes, communication with rescue boat as needed.
- Comfort Station: (some certification may be required)
Provide help as needed for first aid, during any possible medical issues, O2 admin.
- Rescue Divers: (Rescue Diver certification required)
Minimum 2 hour shifts from 10 pm to 6am, manning rescue boat in gear ready to assist in any situation as needed
- Shore Rescue: (Rescue Diver certification required)
Minimum 2 hour shifts. All daylight hours. In gear ready to assist in any situation as needed from shore
